Facility Of Crandon Park Tennis Center

Whether you are just learning tennis from scratch or improving an already advanced game, it is always nicer to do it in a stimulating setting that exudes both excellence and fun The 13,300-seat Stadium Court is the centerpiece of the Tennis Center at Crandon Park facility, home of the Sony Ericsson Open since 1987. The Sony Ericsson Open uses 12 courts in competition courts, plus six practice courts. The facility is also home to four European red clay, four American green clay courts and two grass courts. The Tennis Center at Crandon Park is actually the third home of the Sony Ericsson Open. It all started in Delray in 1985, moved to Boca Raton in 1986 before permanently settling in Miami in 1987. The Tennis Center is also home to the United States Tennis Association's player development program headquarters. Crandon Tennis Center houses 26 courts, including 7 that are lighted. Lessons are offered. Reservations are accepted. The courts are wheel-chair accessible.

6 state-of-the-art clay courts, 2 with red European clay, and 4 with green American clay. There are 2 grass courts. All courts are equipped with the newest watering system available.

Clubhouse that can be rented for social events and meetings accommodating up to 200 people.  Tennis related events only

Annual Events
Crandon Tennis Park Tennis Center and Stadium is home to the Sony Ericsson Open, a 12-day tournament featuring the top 96 men and women tennis players in the world.

Junior Orange Bowl, NCAA and International Wheelchair tournaments are also held at the Center.

The USTA at the Center
The Junior Development Program of the United States Tennis Association is conducted at the Center. The U.S. Junior National Tennis Team is composed of the best boys and girls in the country and represents the U.S. in international competitions. The USTA holds free tennis clinics throughout the year for inner-city children and other players who have not had the opportunity to play the sport.
